Monday!!!

What did you do to prep this week? A weekly post about the various things I do to help myself and my family/friends become better prepared.

This week has been great in different ways…

I love this truck as much as a person can. It’s very rugged and strong.

The Xterra Pro-4X is exceeding my expectations from the beginning and so prep plans incorporate modifications to this vehicle at the current time. This truck is powerful, strong, and safe. The spot lights on top work fantastically. When on, they light up EVERYTHING within about 100+ yards and have a very wide field of light.
Plans for this truck now include alley lights for providing flood style lighting along the sides and rear of the vehicle. This will be great when in the woods on logging roads and you need to light up a “T” intersection… They will mount to the existing cargo rack.
I plan to reinforce several areas as well. These include cutting new bolt on skid plates to replace the stamped sheet metal ones. Rock(log) sliders along the frame rails will prevent damage and give the truck frame mounted drop protection.
Finally, the rear bumper will be replaced with a much more stout steel piece vs the sheet metal that is there now. More than likely it will incorporate or replace the current 2″ receiver.
Also, I’m going to have to be inventive to come up with a good CB antenna mount. As tall as it is, I don’t want to add an addition 4-6ft of height. It will have to a side mount without a plane. Brother is on the hunt for a single side band.

Local gun shop has a single shot Marlin 12 ga shotgun. I’ve been hunting a break action like this for about a year but couldn’t find anything I was happy with since I’m extremely picky. Coming home soon…

More Paramedic school…

That’s about it. Nothing major. Once the money is right I’ll be hunting quite a bit of 1/8″ and 1/4″ steel plating to work on my truck. Going to need some square and round tubing as well.

So how about you?
